Overview
Purpose-built
for high volume, fail-safe data storage
applications, the R31610 sets new standards in
its class. This industry standard 19-inch
rack-mountable 3U chassis RAID subsystem
features 16 hot-swappable ATA, Serial ATA or
Full SCSI drive trays
to give a maximum storage capacity of 4
Terabytes per unit.
For mission critical applications
requiring aggressive performance, total
reliability and system scalability, the R31610
is the obvious solution. Expansion chassis are
available and technology from Westek to expand
these reliable high capacity storage units to
Mutli-Terabytes with no single point of failure,
ensuring complete data security
and highly cost effective data storage
The
R31610 series are equipped with Ultra160 (Dual
SCSI U320 on R3168) / FC-AL to Ultra DMA or SCSI RAID controllers to offer fault tolerant
data protection and 100% transparency to the
host operating system.
A fully featured data protection
subsystem supporting RAID levels 0,1,0 +1,3, 5
and JBOD, it is the ideal storage solutions for
applications requiring high data throughput,
continuous availability, and flexibility in
configuration.
System
reliability is ensured by an environmental
monitoring unit which tracks the enclosure
temperature as well as individual disk
temperatures.
Hot swappable redundant power supplies
are continuously monitored and high quality
advanced cooling modules provide an optimal
environment for high RPM drives.
If any irregularity in these systems
occurs, the monitoring unit alerts the
administrator with an audible alarm, by fax and
pager.
The
R31610 comes with 16 drive trays accommodating
either 3.5” Ultra DMA drives (SI version) the
latest Serial ATA drives (SA and FA versions),
or SCSI drives (SS version) all with true hot swap
capability.
With
a menu driven front panel display, a terminal
serial port, real time drive status indicators
and a Java-based GUI interface, plus the
optional RLINK module to enable SNMP management
over Ethernet, the R31610
offers a variety of options for monitoring and
management.
Together with innovative HA control
software and automatic SCSI ID setting
capabilities, the R31610 offers massive storage
capability in a quick and simple to set up
package.
